Teaching Style:

Students should have fun learning the basics of music! We will enjoy learning how to keep a steady beat, note-spelling, technique and theory. What is a musical staff? How about a rest? What does a time signature mean?

Flashcards, clapping and counting aloud will help in the learning process.

Good practice techniques will be discussed. Explanations which cater to the student’s learning style will be incorporated in the approach to teaching.

Students will also learn exactly how to play by demonstration, not by rote only. Anyone can learn to play the piano: where there is a will there is a way!

To provide students with a broad-based foundation on the fundamentals of appreciating music.
